The House Evolution

The building trade has moved on a lot over the years from the price of materials, to the wide range of products, and tools, that are available in the market today. Due to the different products available in the market, and the quality tradesmen available, sometimes results can be astonishing.

Looking back through the years, the interior of a standard house was often very old fashioned, and could appear gloomy to some, but with new materials, colours, and textures available if done correctly these products can transform a person’s home from dated, to contemporary. Long gone are the early days when building a house would take years to complete; now houses can be built in a matter of months. Tools that are used today play a big part in the speed of completion, and final result of a project. Most of these tools wouldn’t have been available in the past.Outside of the house

With the random acts of Mother Nature that can be thrown at us now, building as a trade, has had to develop very quickly. Building skills have also moved on a lot due to the population of countries and the fact that people are living for longer, so  new houses  need to be built quickly to meet the needs of the increasing population.

Houses traditionally were built with bricks, and mortar, but now there are many different materials that are used to build a house from timber to steel. For example, lath plaster has now been replaced by plaster board, which is by far a stronger, and higher quality product. All DIY products are designed to make things as easy as possible for a beginner to install, which makes it a lot simpler for the beginner. If you have a hole or crack in a wall for example, it can now be easily filled, while in the past, a builder would have to be paid to do the work for you.

The ability of mankind is never ending, and constantly developing, so just imagine what homes could be like in the future.
